e-PhotoMemories includes restoration, using Digital ICETM in the flatbed scanners and Digital ICE3 TM in the film scanners, as part of the scanning process.

Flatbed Scanners:

bulletDigital ICE technology removes surface defects, such as dust and scratches, from a scanned image. Digital ICE differentiates itself from software-only solutions because it does not soften, blur or otherwise alter the underlying details or composition of the original image. Instead, Digital ICE technology works from within the scanner, during the scanning process, to provide a clear, authentic base image that improves the original image.
bulletDigital ROC restores original colors by analyzing the base image and applying corrections to the faded colors. Using a complex set of proprietary algorithms, Digital ROC reads the dye signature in color images and restores colors to the appropriate levels.

Film Scanners:

bulletDigital ICE technology removes surface defects, such as dust and scratches, from a scanned slide or negative. Digital ICE differentiates itself from software-only solutions because it does not soften, blur or otherwise alter the underlying details or composition of the original image. Instead, Digital ICE technology works from within the scanner, during the scanning process, to provide clear, authentic base images that improve the original images.
bulletDigital ROC addresses the need for high-quality scanned-image output, regardless of the color condition of the original negatives or slides. The dyes used in color films fade over time from the effects of storage conditions (temperature and relative humidity) and exposure to light. This fading is not uniform, but affects highlights, mid-tones and shadows in different ways. Digital ROC automatically and meticulously rebuilds the lost color values in film, resulting in color-corrected digitized images.
bulletDigital GEM enhances the clarity of a scanned film image while preserving its colors, gradations and sharpness. Digital GEM analyzes a film's unique grain pattern pixel by pixel, extracts all data related to image quality, color and sharpness, and removes the grain from the scanned record of the image, which results in dramatically improved images.

The restoration provided by the above technologies it truly remarkable as shown on the Examples page.

You may have precious photos that have damage not addressed by these technologies or you may want unique changes made. e-PhotoMemories can provide additional services using Adobe Photoshop software. However, since this work can be time consuming it will be charged on a hourly basis. Work of this nature will be addressed independently.

Remember: e-PhotoMemories uses technology to bring the cost of photo restoration down to consumer levels. The portrait restoration shown on the Examples page took about an hour, it would have taken 4 - 6 hours using Photoshop itself.
